About

Wilson Jacobsen, committed to quality design.

Wilson Jacobsen is a recognized leader in Southern California adaptive reuse, and the developer of eight of the 10 properties cited by the City of Santa Monica as exemplary models of quality, eco-friendly construction.

In addition to leading Wilson Jacobsen, David Wilson and James Jacobsen are partners in the Los Angeles office of Lee & Associates, a commercial brokerage firm they established in 1993. They specialize in the conversion of industrial properties on Los Angeles’ Westside, transforming abandoned warehouses into studios and offices for the entertainment industry. For them, brick-walled, bow-truss warehouses are part of LA’s historic legacy, worthy of respect, and a key to urban renewal. They’ve adapted nearly 100 industrial and residential properties that might have been demolished, preserving the gritty authenticity of industrial zones and generating income for the city. They’ve applied these same principles to upscale residential developments, insisting on high-quality design and construction, that enhance the neighboring communities.

In Santa Monica and Culver City, where they are most active, residential and commercial development complement each other. As public interest in architecture and design grows, along with a new appreciation for the past, Wilson Jacobsen has been enthusiastically embraced by many of the leading digital and post-production companies, which have gravitated to the Westside from Hollywood, the East Coast and Europe.
